arunach.ala is siva himself manifested in the form of hill.those who have deep desire for salvation this hill attract them .who ever think about this arunachala will attain liberation.the hill attracted many sadhus,saints, siddhas,gnanis from time immerorial.In purana it is said that who ever live in the 30 km cicumference of the hill ,the arunachala in the fom of a siddha purusha will be there guru and bless them with liberation.
